Estrel Berlin is Germany’s largest hotel, and we have something to suit every taste and need: 1,125 rooms and suites, four restaurants, three bars, an open air location with its own landing pier, a modern wellness & fitness area and a extensive contemporary art collection. The hotel is adjoined to the Estrel Congress Center (ECC), which covers a space of 30,000 sqm and the Estrel show theatre which hosts top quality Las Vegas style entertainment all year round.

With a population of around 3.5 million, the old and new capital of Germany is the country's largest city. Many also consider Berlin to be the most exciting city in the whole of Germany, perhaps because the metropolis on the Spree never stands still, because old and new coexist here, because Berlin simply has its finger on the pulse of the times. Even though Potsdamer Platz, for a long time the largest construction site in Europe, has now been completed, construction is still going on everywhere in Berlin. The ‘big B at the top of the Spree’ - according to the band Seeed - is changing at breakneck speed and is very much in vogue at the moment. The city on the Havel and Spree is huge, a little confusing and multicultural, for example Berlin is the third largest Turkish city in the world.

After the end of the Second World War, three quarters of the centre of Berlin had been destroyed and only 2.8 million of the former 4.3 million inhabitants were still living in the city. Berlin was then divided up between the four occupying powers, and in 1961 the eastern part of the city was completely sealed off by the construction of the Berlin Wall. The borders were only reopened on 9 November 1989.

Only remnants of the Berlin Wall, which divided the city for 26 years, can still be seen today, for example in Niederkirchnerstraße and from the Oberbaum Bridge along the Spree. A 1300 metre long section still stands there, which has been painted on one side.

Berlin has always been the scene of great historical moments, such as the abdication of the Kaiser and the proclamation of the Republic. Kennedy's speech in 1963 with his famous statement ‘Ich bin ein Berliner’, in which he expressed his solidarity with West Berlin, is also known all over the world.

Despite all the hostility, the real Berliner still speaks freely. The ‘Berliner Schnauze’ lives on, even if Goethe found it unappealing and many simply consider it to be fake German. In Berlin, a bread roll is a ‘Schrippe’ and people say ‘ick, det’ and ‘kiek mal’. Berliners are also very direct and have a somewhat rough tone at first glance. The Berlin bear, the city's heraldic animal, is also typical of the city. The fondness for bears began in 1280 with the first seal bear, and today bears look out at you from postcards and flags everywhere.

From the West/South
When approaching Berlin from the A2 or A9 autobahns, switch on to the A10 / Berliner Ring, then onto the A115 and afterwards onto the A100 in the direction Wilmersdorf / Kurfürstendamm / Flughafen BER. Take exit 24 “Buschkrugallee” and turn right at the traffic lights into Buschkrugallee and then immediately right into Grenzallee. After 1.6 km turn left onto Sonnenallee, after approx. 500 m the Estrel is on the right-hand side.

From the North
Take the A24 Dreieck Havelland interchange onto A10 / Berliner Ring toward Berlin, then change onto the A111 autobahn in the direction Berlin-Zentrum / Berlin-Reinickendorf. Shortly afterwards take the A100 autobahn. Take exit 24 “Buschkrugallee” and turn right at the traffic lights into Buschkrugallee and then immediately right into Grenzallee. After 1.6 km turn left onto Sonnenallee, after approx. 500 m the Estrel is on the right-hand side.

From the East
When approaching Berlin from the A13 or A12 / A10 autobahns, take the “Schönefelder Kreuz” interchange onto the A113 toward Berlin-Zentrum. Take exit 24 “Buschkrugallee” and turn right at the traffic lights into Buschkrugallee and then immediately right into Grenzallee. After 1.6 km turn left onto Sonnenallee, after approx. 500 m the Estrel is on the right-hand side.

From Berlin-Brandenburg Airport BER Terminal 1 –2
Take the A113 autobahn in the direction “Berlin-Zentrum”. Take exit 24 “Buschkrugallee” and turn right at thetraffic lights into Buschkrugallee and then immediately right into Grenzallee. After 1.6 km turn left onto Sonnenallee, after approx. 500 m the Estrel is on the right-hand side.

From Berlin-Brandenburg Airport BER Terminal 5
When leaving the airport go right onto ”Am Seegraben” / B96a, then left onto the A113 autobahn in the direction Berlin-Zentrum. Take exit 24 “Buschkrugallee” and turn right at the traffic lights into Buschkrugallee and then immediately right into Grenzallee. After 1.6 km turn left onto Sonnenallee, after approx. 500 m the Estrel is on the right-hand side. Inner city Berlin (within the S-Bahn Ring commuter train line) is categorised as a Low Emission Zone in which only cars with an official green emissions-control sticker are permitted. The Estrel is located outside this zone and no such sticker is required.
